This map visually represents the spatial distribution and density of various waste management facilities across Gauteng Province, South Africa. The Waste Facility Density heat map overlay uses a colour gradient to represent the density of waste facilities. Red and yellow indicate areas with the highest density of waste facilities, mostly centred around the major urban areas of Johannesburg, Tshwane, and Ekurhuleni. The Blue and purple represent areas with lower concentrations of facilities, predominantly in rural or less densely populated municipalities such as Lesedi, Midvaal, and parts of Emfuleni.
