The Fibre Circle SMME Development Programme exists to support the growth of Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) through various mechanisms.
At present, the formal programme has 15 enrolled participants with a growing number in the pipeline. Our SMMEs are based in Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Western Cape, North-West, Limpopo and Kwa-Zulu Natal. They are all participants in the waste management value chain, a large majority of whom run buy-back centres.
Most SMME Development programmes take a short-term view, limited to fiscal year targets. Fibre Circle’s approach takes a more medium to long-term view with a commitment to engage with entrepreneurs for at least two years.
Impact is a major driver for the programme and it is data-driven and rooted in a Theory of Change. The offering is tailored to meet the entrepreneur where they are and desists from a “one size fits all” approach. Experiential learning and personalized mentoring and coaching approaches are included.
We collaborate with entrepreneurs to enhance their management skills, operational efficiency, and strategic planning, thus enabling them to better compete in the market.
Fibre Circle’s ability to leverage an ecosystem of stakeholders facilitating access to off-take agreements and other forms of support. These are significant barriers that typically hinder SMME growth.
We encourage SMMEs to engage with us to explore ways in which we can partner in promoting sustainable socio-economic development.
