EPR Fees

2024 Fee Structure

Fibre Circle, the producer responsibility organization for the South African paper and paper packaging sector, collects membership fees to fund the industry’s extended producer responsibility (EPR) efforts. These fees ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support recycling initiatives that drive a circular economy.

How Are the Fees Used?

The fees collected are invested in initiatives that include:

  • Developing and improving recycling infrastructure.
  • Supporting small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) in the waste sector.
  • Promoting consumer awareness about recycling and sustainable waste management.
  • Developing recyclability standards for paper and paper packaging.
  • By contributing to Fibre Circle, members not only fulfil their EPR obligations but also play a critical role in advancing sustainable waste management and recycling in South Africa.
